Suspected Lawrence Bishnoi Syndicate Member Arrested for Alleged Logistical Support
A 20-year-old suspected member of the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate was apprehended by authorities for allegedly aiding the gang by providing logistical assistance as per directives from its leaders, an official announced on Friday.
Law enforcement officials stated that they also seized seven stolen motorcycles from the suspect, identified as Sunny, also known as Prince, a resident of Katewara. These vehicles were purportedly intended for distribution among gang affiliates to carry out criminal activities.
According to police sources, on April 14, they received specific intelligence regarding the presence of an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, along with associates from the Kala Rana and Kapil Mann gangs, in the Bawana area.
“A raid was promptly conducted, resulting in the apprehension of Sunny. Upon searching him, authorities found a loaded single-shot country-made pistol and two live cartridges in his possession,” stated Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer-north) Ravi Kumar Singh.
During interrogation, Sunny purportedly admitted that he was initially drawn into illicit activities by criminals from his village in Katewara. Subsequently, he became involved in unlawful acts such as weapon possession and delivery.
“As his network expanded via social media, he came into contact with numerous other gang members. He allegedly facilitated logistical support, including motorcycles, to aid fellow gang members,” explained the DCP.
