Anandita Kaushik Joins Dassault Aviation as General Counsel – India, Leaving Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas

Aviation law specialist Anandita Kaushik has moved in-house, joining the Dassault Aviation group as General Counsel – India. She will be housed within Dassault Aircraft Services, the group’s wholly owned subsidiary based in New Delhi.

Kaushik joins from Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM), where she served as a Partner for over six years. The move marks a significant transition from private practice to a senior in-house leadership role at one of the world’s most prominent aerospace groups.

With over 15 years of experience in Defence and Aerospace law, Kaushik brings deep expertise in PE-VC and M&A transactions within the aviation sector, along with regulatory, structuring, and transactional counsel to both foreign OEMs and domestic entities involved in Indian defence procurement.

Education Background and Career Progression

Education

Kaushik is a 2009 graduate of Symbiosis International University. She earned her LLM in Mergers and Acquisitions from Columbia Law School in 2013.

Career Journey

Kaushik began building her practice in aviation and defence law early in her career, spending six years at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. before transitioning to Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, where she rose to Partner. At CAM, she spent over six years advising on complex transactions and regulatory matters in the Defence and Aerospace space. Over the course of her career, she has consistently advised the Dassault Aviation group for over a decade, developing a close working relationship with the client ahead of her decision to move in-house.

What the Firm Said

Cyril Shroff, Managing Partner of Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, commented on the development:

“It’s wonderful to have her as a client of the firm. We have a lot of respect for her.”

Kaushik herself reflected on the move:

“I have advised the Dassault Aviation group for over a decade now, and have always enjoyed solving for the unique challenges of the defence and aerospace sector in India. It was a difficult decision to move on from CAM, but these are exciting times for Dassault, and for the sector overall, and I look forward to contributing to their journey from closer quarters.”

Strategic Significance

Anandita Kaushik‘s appointment as General Counsel – India strengthens Dassault Aviation‘s in-house legal capability at a moment of heightened activity in India’s defence and aerospace sector. Her decade-long advisory relationship with the group, combined with her transactional and regulatory depth across PE-VC, M&A, and defence procurement, positions her to provide immediate and well-informed strategic counsel from within the organisation.
