Anagram Partners Bengaluru Office Launches with Anind Thomas and Ravisekhar Nair as Partners

Anagram Partners is launching its Bengaluru office with the simultaneous onboarding of Anind Thomas and Ravisekhar Nair as Partners, according to sources. Thomas joins from AZB & Partners, where he spent over 15 years, while Nair moves from Economic Laws Practice (ELP), where he was a partner for 14 years.

Both Thomas and Nair are understood to be bringing a few team members along with them to the new office. The dual hire marks a significant expansion moment for Anagram Partners as it establishes a presence in one of India’s leading legal markets.

Education Background and Career Progression

Education

Anind Thomas is a 2003 alumnus of the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru.

Ravisekhar Nair is a 2005 alumnus of National Law Institute University, Bhopal. He subsequently earned an LL.M. in International Trade Laws & Dispute Resolution from The University of Queensland in 2007.

Career Journey

Ravisekhar Nair carries two decades of experience, specialising in Competition Law, Data Privacy, Technology, and AI Regulation. He represents clients across industry sectors in investigations and proceedings before the Competition Commission of India (CCI), the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal, various High Courts, and the Supreme Court of India. He also advises extensively on general competition law, merger control, and competition compliance.

Prior to his 14-year tenure at Economic Laws Practice, Nair spent six years at Luthra and Luthra. Notably, he was a member of the Law Firm Working Group constituted by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to finalise merger regulations governing combinations in India, and has worked closely with the CCI to establish various processes and procedures.

Anind Thomas brings 23 years of expertise across Information Technology, Telecommunications, Data Protection, and Dispute Resolution. He has consistently represented clients before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, the National Company Law Tribunals, and domestic and international arbitration tribunals. 

He advises clients across a wide range of sectors, including representation before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, the National Company Law Tribunal, and domestic and international arbitral tribunals. His practice also extends to mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and general corporate practices. 

He was associated with AZB & Partners for over 15 years prior to this move.
