Timothy Franklyn has joined Dentons Link Legal as a Partner in its Capital Markets practice, based in Bengaluru. The lateral hire adds over two decades of domestic and international capital markets experience to the firm’s growing transactional bench.
Franklyn‘s expertise spans IPOs, QIPs, rights issues, high-yield bonds, convertible bonds, medium-term note programs, and Rule 144A/Regulation S offerings. His background bridges leading international law firms and prominent Indian practices, making him a seasoned hand in cross-border securities transactions.
Education Background and Career Progression
Education
Franklyn holds an LL.M. from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is qualified as an advocate in India and as a solicitor in England and Wales. In 2020, he was selected as an Obama Scholar at Columbia University.
Career Journey
Franklyn spent more than ten years at leading international law firms, including A&O Shearman and DLA Piper, building his foundation in complex cross-border capital markets work. He subsequently spent seven years at Tatva Legal, deepening his Indian market experience before moving on to Fox & Mandal, where he served as Deputy Managing Partner for approximately a year. He also had a brief stint at K Law before joining Dentons Link Legal.
Beyond private practice, Franklyn is the Founder of the Bengaluru School of Law and Justice (SoLJ).
