NEET PG Exam Date 2024: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is set to reveal the rescheduled date for the NEET PG 2024 exam today, July 2, 2024
This follows a statement from Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who indicated the announcement would be made by “Monday or Tuesday.”
Postponement Due to Precautionary Measures
Initially scheduled for June 23, the NEET PG exam was postponed just hours before its start as a precautionary measure in light of concerns surrounding the integrity of the NEET UG exam. NBEMS President Dr. Abhijat Sheth assured that the NEET PG exam itself was not compromised.
History of Rescheduling
The exam had already been rescheduled once from its original date of March 3 to July 7. Applications for the exam were accepted from April 16 to May 6, 2024.
NTA Under Fire
This development comes amid significant criticism of the National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for conducting the NEET UG exams, over alleged irregularities. Protests have erupted nationwide, demanding reforms and even the disbanding of the NTA.
Government Response
The Ministry of Education has formed a committee of experts to recommend improvements in the exam process, data security protocols, and the overall functioning of the NTA.
