Warburg Pincus Acquires Shriram Housing Finance for ₹4,630 crores in its largest investment in India so Far: Deal led by Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Trilegal, and Anagram Partners

Warburg Pincus has completed the acquisition of Shriram Housing Finance Limited for ₹4,630 crores, acquiring 100% ownership of the company.

This significant investment marks Warburg Pincus’s largest venture in India and targets SHFL, a prominent player in the affordable housing finance sector. SHFL, registered with the National Housing Bank (NHB), specializes in providing retail loans.

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas

The General Corporate team of Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas provided legal counsel to Warburg for the acquisition. The transaction was led by Shishir Vayttaden and Aditi Singhvi, along with a team of associates who supported various aspects of the deal.

Anagram Partners represented Valiant on its exit from Shriram Housing Finance. Partner Palaq Vora led the Anagram team, which included Sanskriti Singh, Ashana Shah, and Rajni Tolani.
