Suraj Revanna sentenced to 14 Days Judicial Custody in Sexual Abuse Case by Bengaluru Court

A Bengaluru court, presided over by Magistrate KN Shivakumar, has ordered Karnataka MLC Dr. Suraj Revanna to 14 days of judicial custody following a special Sunday hearing at the magistrate’s residence in National Games Village, Koramangala.

Arrest and Charges

Suraj Revanna was arrested by Hassan police after interrogation at Hassan’s cyber station on Saturday evening. The arrest was made in connection with a sexual abuse case filed under Sections 377, 342, 506, and 34 of the IPC based on a complaint lodged by a youth.

Complaint and Allegations

The complainant accused Suraj Revanna of sexual intercourse at Gannigada Farm House in Channarayapatna taluk. Allegations included illegal detention, criminal intimidation, and acts committed with common intention by several persons. The case has been transferred to the Crime Investigation Department (CID) by the Director General of Police (DGP).

Counter Allegations

In a twist, Shivakumar of Hanumanahalli village filed a complaint against the youth at Holenarasipur City Police Station, alleging threats and extortion. He claimed the youth demanded ₹5 crore and threatened to falsely accuse Suraj Revanna of sexual assault if not assisted in securing a job.
