CJI Chandrachud-led Bench Requests State to Submit Note on Latest Detention Order
The Supreme Court of India has sought clarification from the Tamil Nadu government on whether the various First Information Reports (FIRs) filed against YouTuber Savukku Shankar can be consolidated into one case. The issue was raised in the case *A Shankar @ Savukku Shankar v. State of Tamil Nadu and Ors.* during a hearing on Friday.
A Bench comprising Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud, along with Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, is presiding over the matter. The Bench also requested the Tamil Nadu government to submit a concise note outlining the details of Shankar’s latest detention order.
The Court indicated that it would take up the case again on Monday, awaiting the State’s response regarding the consolidation of FIRs and further details on Shankar’s detention.
