Congress leader Rahul Gandhi arrived in the United States on Sunday for a three-day visit, where he aims to engage in “meaningful discussions and insightful conversations” to enhance the relationship between India and the US
Gandhi, who serves as the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception he received from the Indian diaspora and members of the Indian Overseas Congress upon his arrival in Dallas, Texas. In a Facebook post, he shared his excitement about the discussions that would contribute to strengthening ties between the two nations, accompanied by photos of his arrival.
The Congress party highlighted on X (formerly Twitter) that Gandhi received an enthusiastic welcome at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.
Sam Pitroda, chairperson of the Indian Overseas Congress, emphasized that Gandhi’s visit is not in an official capacity but will include various interactions at an individual level, including meetings with the press at the National Press Club and discussions with think tanks and at Georgetown University in Washington DC.
This visit, spanning from September 8-10, marks Gandhi’s first trip to the US since assuming his role as Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. During his stay, he will participate in several engagements in Washington DC and Dallas, including events at Georgetown University and the University of Texas.
