Premier Energies IPO Raises ₹1,539 Crores with 120% Premium Listing

Premier Energies Limited successfully raised ₹1,539 Crores through its initial public offering (IPO)

The Capital Markets team at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. provided legal counsel to Premier Energies for this IPO. The team included Practice Head Prashant Gupta, Partner Devi Prasad Patel, Senior Associate Kamiya Marwah, and Associates Megha Mehta and Kaushik Parkhe.

Trilegal’s Capital Markets team advised the bankers involved in the IPO, namely Kotak Mahindra Capital Company Limited, J.P. Morgan India Private Limited, and ICICI Securities Limited. The team was led by Partners Bhakta Patnaik and Brajendu Bhaskar, with support from Senior Associate Malika Grewal and Associates Arsh Sinha, Janhavi Shah, Akanksha Goel, Shambhavi Sharma, and Kavya Krishnaswamy.

International counsel for the bankers was provided by Linklaters, with the team led by Partner Amit Singh, along with Counsel Joseph Wolpin and Managing Associate Daryl Bryan Chee.

Touchstone Partners represented the Private Equity South Asia Growth Fund II and South Asia EBT Trust in connection with the IPO. Their team was headed by Partner Uday Walia, assisted by Associates Mahak Goyal and Prachi Dutta.

Premier Energies is a leading manufacturer of solar cells and modules, boasting an annual production capacity of 2 GW for cells and 4.13 GW for modules. The company also offers engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solutions, operations and maintenance services, and functions as an independent power producer.

The IPO was a major success, being oversubscribed by 75 times, with equity shares debuting at a 120% premium on the stock exchanges.
