Special Court rejects bail plea of Prajwal Revanna as JD(S) leader faces allegations of rape and harassment; father HD Revanna also under investigation.
The Special People Representative Court in New Delhi made a decisive move on Wednesday by rejecting the bail plea of Prajwal Revanna, a suspended JD(S) leader and accused in a sexual harassment case filed at Holenarasipura police station. Alongside him, his father and former Karnataka minister HD Revanna are also embroiled in the allegations.
Prajwal Revanna, previously a Member of Parliament representing Hassan, faces severe accusations involving multiple instances of rape and sexual harassment against several women. His brother, JD(S) MLC Suraj, is similarly entangled in legal issues, accused of sexually assaulting a man. Both were apprehended by the police on Tuesday.
The controversy has deepened with the involvement of an investigation team, which is also scrutinizing a separate kidnap case against HD Revanna. Furthermore, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) is actively pursuing leads regarding leaked explicit videos purportedly involving Prajwal Revanna.
The court’s decision to deny bail underscores the gravity of the allegations and the ongoing legal scrutiny facing the Revanna family.
