PM Modi Urges Youth to Join Politics for a Developed India

PM Modi Calls for Youth Involvement in Politics to Build a ‘Viksit Bharat’ and Highlights India’s Progress in Space and Environmental Initiatives

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized on Sunday that numerous developments occurring in India during the 21st century are laying a strong foundation for a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India). In his monthly ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio address, he reflected on the overwhelming response to his Independence Day appeal for one lakh young people without political backgrounds to enter politics. He urged the youth to participate in public life to contribute to a developed India and a stronger democracy.

Modi pointed out that during the freedom movement, countless individuals from diverse backgrounds joined the cause, even without political experience. “They dedicated themselves fully to India’s independence. Today, we must reignite that spirit to achieve the vision of a Viksit Bharat,” he said.

He noted that many young people are eager to enter politics and only need the right opportunities and guidance. The Prime Minister shared that youth have responded positively to his call, expressing their thoughts through letters and social media. He acknowledged their concerns about how family-based politics often stifles new talent.

During the program, Modi interacted with young entrepreneurs leading various space startups, who highlighted their contributions to the growing space ecosystem in India. They praised the nation’s dynamic space sector, which has flourished thanks to recent reforms.

Modi also noted that India celebrated its first National Space Day on August 23, marking the anniversary of the successful Moon landing of its spacecraft. He further emphasized the importance of collective efforts in environmental conservation, showcasing the work of different organizations and individuals committed to improving the environment.
