Deodhar joins Phoenix Legal from JSA , bringing over 13 years of experience in corporate transactions and client-focused legal solutions.
Phoenix Legal has strengthened its corporate and mergers & acquisitions (M&A) practice by welcoming Rahul Deodhar as a partner. Deodhar joins the firm from JSA Advocates & Solicitors in Mumbai.
Having recently transitioned to JSA as a partner in June 2023, Deodhar was part of a four-member team that moved from Desai & Diwanji. With over 13 years of experience, he has provided counsel to large domestic firms, multinational corporations, private equity firms, venture capital funds, startups, and early-stage companies on corporate transactions, M&A, joint ventures, and general corporate advisory matters.

This addition comes as part of a broader expansion at Phoenix Legal, which recently welcomed Piyush Mishra as the national head of bankruptcy, along with banking and finance partners Rohit Sharma and Shivani Sinha, all from Luthra and Luthra Law Offices.
Meanwhile, JSA Advocates has been actively hiring but has also seen some partner departures. Notably, capital markets partner Mathew Thomas has joined Saraf and Partners, and Bengaluru partner Lalu John Philip has left to establish his own boutique firm, Boolean Legal.
