Narendra Modi Extends Congratulations to Thailand’s New Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Congratulates Paetongtarn Shinawatra on Her Election as Thailand’s Prime Minister

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt congratulations to Paetongtarn Shinawatra on her recent election as the Prime Minister of Thailand. In his message, Modi expressed his anticipation of working closely with Shinawatra to enhance the strategic partnership between India and Thailand.

Shinawatra, who is the daughter of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, officially assumed office after receiving a royal endorsement. This endorsement came two days after the Thai Parliament selected her for the position, following a court decision that led to the removal of her predecessor.

Modi conveyed his well-wishes through a post on the social media platform X, stating, “Congratulations @ingshin on your election as the Prime Minister of Thailand. Best wishes for a very successful tenure.” This gesture underscores the importance of the diplomatic relationship between the two nations and Modi’s commitment to fostering continued cooperation.
