Nagarjuna Takes a Stand: Actor Testifies Against Minister in Defamation Case

Actor Nagarjuna Testifies in Court Against Telangana Minister in Defamation Case

HYDERABAD: On Tuesday, actor Nagarjuna made a notable appearance in a local court to record his statement regarding a criminal defamation complaint he filed against Telangana Minister Konda Surekha. The case centers on remarks she made about the highly publicized divorce of his son, Naga Chaitanya, and actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

Nagarjuna arrived at the Nampally court in the afternoon, accompanied by his wife Amala and their son Naga Chaitanya. The atmosphere was charged as they stepped into the courthouse, drawing attention from media and onlookers.

In his complaint, Nagarjuna alleges that Surekha’s comments were not only defamatory but also caused distress to his family, particularly during a sensitive time following the divorce. He filed the complaint under Section 356 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which addresses issues of defamation and the protection of one’s reputation.

This case highlights the intersection of personal lives and public discourse, especially in the context of celebrity culture. As the proceedings unfold, it will be interesting to see how the court addresses the balance between freedom of speech and protecting individuals from defamatory statements.
