Mumbai Advocate Arrested for Alleged Rape and ₹2.7 Crore Extortion

Mumbai-based advocate Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh was arrested on Saturday following allegations of rape, unnatural sex, and criminal intimidation made against him by the daughter of one of his clients

Deshmukh was reportedly representing the complainant’s mother in her divorce case.

After his arrest, Deshmukh was brought before a holiday court on Sunday, where he was remanded to police custody for three days.

According to the complainant, Khan raped her on two occasions: once in his car after allegedly spiking her drink and again at his home. She claims he recorded both incidents on video.

The complainant also alleged that Khan learned of her family’s connection to a prominent politician from Navi Mumbai and subsequently pressured her to assist him in extorting money from the politician. When she refused, Khan allegedly raped her again, filmed the act, and threatened to distribute the video unless she agreed to help him file a false rape complaint against the politician.

Under pressure, the complainant claims she agreed to Khan’s demands, and they successfully extorted ₹2.7 crore from the politician by filing the fabricated rape case.

The complainant further alleged that the second incident of rape occurred when Khan invited her to his residence to distribute the money obtained from the extortion scheme.
