Militants Attack Security Post in J-K’s Rajouri, Injuring Army Soldier

Army Soldier Injured in Militants Attack on Security Post in Rajouri, J-K

An Indian Army soldier was injured in an early morning attack by militants on a security post in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. The post had been established near the residence of Shaurya Chakra awardee Parshotam Kumar.

The incident occurred at around 3:10 am in the Gunda Khawas village, officials confirmed. The soldier injured in the attack was part of the team stationed at the security post recently set up near Kumar’s house, following intelligence inputs suggesting a possible threat.

Details about the attack are still emerging. It remains unclear if Kumar’s house was the intended target. Kumar, who was recently awarded the Shaurya Chakra by President Droupadi Murmu for his role in eliminating a terrorist in the Kalakote area, may not have been home during the incident. Officials reported that an animal at his residence was killed in the attack.
