The Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai has recently sanctioned and put into practice a ‘Menstrual Leave Policy for Students’.

Additionally, the policy specifies a maximum of five Menstrual Leave Days (MLDs) per semester.

Further details of the policy include:

  • Students can request Menstrual Leave by self-certification, submitting a physical application to the Student Affairs department within seven working days of seeking leave.
  • Menstrual Leave cannot be utilized during mid-semester exams, end-semester exams, class tests, viva voce, or any other examination.
  • The University reserves the right to reassess leave requests in case of policy misuse.
  • The policy will undergo periodic review for potential modifications or enhancements.

This policy comes into effect from April 4, 2024.
