The Kerala High Court has adopted a resolution to exempt advocates from wearing gowns during the summer season. The Full Court decided to:
i) Allow advocates appearing in district judiciary courts to wear a white shirt with a band, with the option to use a black coat and advocate’s gown.
ii) Grant advocates appearing in the High Court the option to wear gowns.
This decision was made in response to a request from the Kerala High Court Advocates Association to waive the requirement of wearing gowns due to the intense summer heat and the challenges faced by the advocate community statewide.
