Kerala High Court Urges Centre and NDMA to Disburse Relief Funds for Wayanad Landslide Victims

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has directed the Centre and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to take immediate action in providing relief funds to the state following the devastating landslides in Wayanad on July 30, which resulted in over 200 fatalities and numerous individuals still unaccounted for.

During the hearing, the court requested the state government to disclose the criteria used to estimate the required disaster relief. Additionally, it instructed the Additional Solicitor General to submit a report regarding the Centre’s position on the allocation of these funds within two weeks.
