Justice Aniruddha Bose Appointed Director of National Judicial Academy, Bhopal: CJI DY Chandrachud Extols Esteemed Jurist

Supreme Court Appoints Justice Aniruddha Bose as Director of National Judicial Academy, Bhopal: Chief Justice DY Chandrachud’s Tribute to a Distinguished Jurist

The appointment of Justice Aniruddha Bose as the Director of The National Judicial Academy (NJAC) in Bhopal was recently announced by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud during a ceremonial bench held to honor the retiring justice.

Justice Bose, who is stepping down from his current office on April 10, will now take the helm at NJAC in Bhopal. During the farewell proceedings for Justice Bose, CJI DY Chandrachud emphasized Justice Bose’s strong commitment to ensuring justice for all, making him a perfect fit for the Director position at NJAC.

The Chief Justice praised Justice Bose’s exceptional fairness, compassion, and unwavering dedication to delivering justice to every individual. He noted that the judicial fraternity has long sought a highly suitable candidate to lead the National Judicial Academy, and the unanimous choice among judges was Justice Anirudha Bose, an academician-jurist.

CJI DY Chandrachud highlighted Justice Bose’s willingness to undertake the challenging responsibility of training not only High Court judges but also engaging with Supreme Court judges and district judiciary, as NJAC serves as a policy think-tank in Bhopal.

The Chief Justice also commended Justice Bose’s ability to balance personal challenges with professional commitments and acknowledged his diverse interests in arts and culture, referring to him as the quintessential Bengali Bhadralok.

In his farewell address, Justice Aniruddha Bose emphasized the importance of continuous learning, even at the highest levels of the judiciary. He expressed gratitude for the collaboration with the legal fraternity, emphasizing the significance of diverse viewpoints in judicial decision-making.

Justice Aniruddha Bose was appointed to the Supreme Court on May 24, 2019, following his tenure as Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court.
