Eminent Constitutional Lawyer and Scholar AG Noorani Passes Away at 93
Eminent lawyer, scholar, and political commentator Abdul Ghafoor Majeed Noorani passed away on Thursday in Mumbai at the age of 93. Noorani was a highly respected figure in Indian legal and political spheres, having practiced as an advocate in both the Supreme Court and the Bombay High Court.
Born in 1930, Noorani was renowned for his deep expertise in Constitutional law, particularly on issues concerning Kashmir and Article 370. His scholarly contributions include several books on these topics, such as *The Kashmir Question*, *Article 370: A Constitutional History of Jammu and Kashmir*, *The Presidential System*, and *Constitutional Questions in India*.
In addition to his legal writings, Noorani authored biographies of notable figures like Badruddin Tyabji and Dr. Zakir Husain, further cementing his legacy as a distinguished intellectual in Indian legal and historical discourse.
