Kamala Harris’ Husband Doug Emhoff Admits to Past Infidelity: “I Took Responsibility”
Doug Emhoff, husband of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, has publicly acknowledged infidelity during his first marriage, following a British tabloid’s report on a past affair. The Daily Mail reported that Emhoff, while still married to his former wife Kerstin, had a relationship with Najen Naylor, a nanny at his children’s private school, which led to Naylor becoming pregnant. According to the report, Naylor chose not to keep the baby.
In a statement to CNN, Emhoff confirmed the affair but did not comment on the pregnancy. He expressed regret over his actions during his first marriage, saying, “During my first marriage, Kerstin and I went through some tough times due to my actions. I took responsibility, and over the years, we worked through our issues as a family and have emerged stronger.”
Kerstin Emhoff also addressed the situation, stating, “Doug and I decided to end our marriage for a variety of reasons many years ago. He remains a great father to our children and a supportive friend. I am proud of the warm and supportive blended family we have built together with Kamala.”
CNN reported that this affair was disclosed to President Biden’s vetting team four years ago before selecting Kamala Harris as his running mate for the 2020 presidential election.
