Donald Trump has confirmed he will join Kamala Harris for a debate on September 4

Donald Trump has announced that he will participate in a debate with Kamala Harris on September 4

In a recent update on his Truth Social platform, former President Donald Trump has confirmed his participation in a debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. Scheduled for September 4 in Pennsylvania, the specific location is yet to be announced. This debate will be hosted by Fox News and moderated by anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, and will feature an audience, unlike Trump’s previous CNN debate.

Trump’s decision to engage in this debate follows the cancellation of a planned debate against President Joe Biden on ABC News. The cancellation comes after Biden’s suspension of his re-election campaign and Trump’s ongoing litigation with ABC and its host, George Stephanopoulos, which Trump cites as a conflict of interest.

The debate format will mirror the rules from the June 27 CNN debate Trump had with Biden, though with the added element of an audience. Initially, Fox News had proposed a debate between Trump and Harris on September 17, but this has now been rescheduled to the 4th. Harris had previously criticized Trump for what she perceived as a delay in agreeing to the debate, following her formal nomination as the Democratic presidential candidate.

Trump had previously stated that he would not debate Harris due to her not being the party’s official nominee. However, with Harris securing the necessary delegates and becoming the official nominee, Trump has now committed to the debate.
