Activists Rally for Green Rights: High Court to Decide on Protest Permit
NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court is set to hear a petition on Wednesday requesting permission for climate activist Sonam Wangchuk and others to hold a protest at Jantar Mantar or another appropriate location in the national capital.
The plea was brought up for urgent consideration on Tuesday before a bench comprising Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela, who subsequently scheduled the hearing for Wednesday.
The counsel for the petitioner, Apex Body Leh, highlighted that Wangchuk is currently in Delhi with 200 padyatris, urging the court to prioritize the petition.
