The Delhi High Court has launched a free Wi-Fi facility on its premises to provide advocates, litigants, and the public with seamless access to legal resources, such as case information and other data.
This initiative represents a significant advancement in the modernization of judicial infrastructure, aiming to improve efficiency and user experience, according to court officials.
Phase 1 Implementation
In the initial phase, the OTP-based Wi-Fi service will be available in several areas: ‘A’ Block, ‘B’ Block, ‘C’ Block, the Extension Block, the Mediation Centre, and the Lawyers’ Cafeteria.
Launch Event
Acting Chief Justice Manmohan inaugurated the facility, accompanied by Justices Rajiv Shakdher, Sanjeev Sachdeva, Sanjeev Narula, Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav, Swarana Kanta Sharma, and Girish Kathpalia, among others.
Additional Initiatives
Besides the Wi-Fi facility, the event also marked the launch of a new website for the high court and a virtual tour of the court premises. The virtual tour allows viewers to visually explore the court complex and its amenities through a sequence of videos, still images, or 360-degree images.
Enhancing Accessibility
Justice Manmohan highlighted that these initiatives would enhance accessibility to the Delhi High Court for both lawyers and litigants. He emphasized the unique administrative structure of the court, where judges themselves handle various functions through committees comprising five to seven judges each. This approach positions the court as a trendsetter and a leader in judicial reforms.
