Delhi High Court Seeks Centre’s Response on Regulating Concert Ticket Resales and Curbing Illegal Sites

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Thursday requested the Centre’s response to a plea for establishing a regulatory framework to oversee the resale of concert tickets through authorized platforms, aiming to prevent illegal selling practices.

A bench led by Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela issued notices to the Union ministries of Information and Broadcasting and Electronics and Information Technology, as well as private companies including Stubhub Inc, Viagogo Entertainment Inc, and Bigtree Entertainment Pvt Ltd. The court mandated that responses be submitted within four weeks and scheduled the next hearing for February 18, 2025, alongside a related petition.
