CCI approves merger of Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilisers with Paradeep Phosphates

SAM & Co Facilitates Unconditional Approval from Competition Commission of India for Paradeep Phosphates’ Merger with Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilisers, and Zuari Maroc’s Strategic Shareholding in Mangalore Chemicals.

SAM & Co represented Paradeep Phosphates Limited, Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilisers Limited and Zuari Maroc Phosphates Private Limited in securing unconditional approval from the Competition Commission Of India for the proposed merger of Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited with and into Paradeep Phosphates Limited and the acquisition of certain shareholding in Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited by Zuari Maroc Phosphates Private Limited.

The proposed combined entity will become one of the largest integrated private sector fertilizer companies in India.

The Competition Team consisted of Partner, Rohan Arora, Senior Associate, Ritesh Puri and Associates, Sai Divkanwar S. and Sakshi Saran Agarwal.

The Transaction Team was led by Shardul Shroff, Partners, Gunjan Shah, Karun Prakash and Sangamitra Sankaraiah, Senior Associate, Amrusha Monga and Associate, Ruthvik Tumuluri.
