BMW Accident Worli Case: Speeding BMW in Worli Kills Woman, Injures Husband; Police Detain Suspect

BMW Accident Worli Case: A tragic accident occurred in Worli on Sunday when a speeding BMW car collided with a couple’s bike, dragging the woman for 100 meters on the car’s bonnet, resulting in her death and injuring her husband

Police are actively searching for the accused involved in the incident.

Incident Details

The accident took place around 5:30 am near Atria Mall. According to police sources, the BMW is owned by a political leader from Palghar, and his son, along with a driver, was inside the car during the incident.

Victim Information

The victim, Kaveri Nakhwa, 45, a resident of Worli Koliwada, was returning with her husband after procuring fish from Sassoon Dock to sell. The car struck their scooter, causing them to lose balance and land on the vehicle’s bonnet. While her husband managed to jump off, Kaveri was dragged for approximately 100 meters before being flung onto the road.

Aftermath

Local residents rushed Kaveri to Nair Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead. Her husband is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.

Police Investigation

The Worli Police have registered a case against the two individuals inside the BMW. Notably, the car’s number plate was removed when it was brought back to the police station. One person has been detained, and the car has been seized. The zonal Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) mentioned that no arrests have been made yet, but the process of filing a case and making an arrest is underway.

This incident follows closely on the heels of a hit-and-run case involving a Porsche in Pune, where a 17-year-old caused the death of two people by hitting a motorcycle.
