BJP’s Gorakhnath Moves to Drop Election Challenge in Milkipur Seat

Former BJP MLA Seeks to Withdraw Election Challenge in Milkipur Constituency

AYODHYA (UP): Former BJP MLA Baba Gorakhnath has filed a motion with the Allahabad High Court to withdraw his election petition contesting the victory of Samajwadi Party leader Awadhesh Prasad in the Milkipur assembly constituency during the 2022 elections.

The Milkipur seat has become vacant following Prasad’s election to the Lok Sabha. While the Election Commission recently announced bypolls for nine assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh, Milkipur was excluded due to ongoing legal proceedings in the Lucknow bench of the court.

“I have submitted a request to withdraw the litigation, and the court is scheduled to hear my plea on Thursday,” stated Gorakhnath.
