Amul dairy is addressing a customer complaint in Noida where a woman allegedly discovered a centipede in an ice cream tub ordered through a delivery app.
The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), responsible for the Amul brand, expressed regret over the incident and promptly responded to the complaint via social media.
The food safety department in Noida has initiated an investigation after the woman, identified as Deepa Devi, shared a photograph of the insect inside the ice cream tub on June 15. Amul has requested the customer to return the specific tub for thorough examination, emphasizing the importance of maintaining integrity in packaging and the supply chain.
Despite efforts to retrieve the tub for inspection, The dairy giant reported that the customer declined to hand it over during a scheduled meeting. The company highlighted its state-of-the-art, ISO-certified plants and stringent quality control measures, inviting the customer to visit and witness these processes firsthand.
While reassuring customers about the quality of their products, the company reiterated its commitment to addressing customer concerns promptly and transparently throughout the investigation.
