Supreme Court Denies Stay on Nayab Singh Saini’s Oath as Haryana Chief Minister
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition seeking to halt the oath ceremony of Nayab Singh Saini as the Chief Minister of Haryana. On Thursday, a bench led by Chief Justice of India (CJI) D.Y. Chandrachud, along with Justices J.B. Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, quickly dismissed the plea, questioning the nature of the petition. “What kind of petition is this?” the Chief Justice remarked before taking the case on board and dismissing it.
Earlier in the day, Saini was officially sworn in as Haryana’s Chief Minister for the second time during a ceremony held at Dussehra Grounds in Panchkula. The event saw the presence of numerous prominent BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alongside senior figures from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) coalition and members of the public. The oath was administered by Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, marking a significant moment in Haryana’s political landscape.
