Ten Convicted in 2013 Murder of UP Deputy Superintendent of Police; Sentencing Scheduled for October 9
LUCKNOW: In a significant development, a special CBI court in Lucknow has convicted ten individuals for the murder of Deputy Superintendent of Police Zia Ul Haq, who was killed in 2013. The ruling comes after a thorough investigation into the case, which also scrutinized the alleged involvement of Kunda MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh, commonly known as Raja Bhaiya.
On March 2, 2013, Zia Ul Haq, then a circle officer in Kunda and a 2009-batch PPS officer, was tragically murdered in the Hathigawan police station area of Pratapgarh district. The court, presided over by Special Judge Dhirendra Kumar, has ordered the immediate arrest of the convicted individuals and set the sentencing hearing for October 9. This verdict marks a crucial step in delivering justice for the late officer and addressing the violent circumstances surrounding his death.
