NLSIU to Enhance Infrastructure with Grant from Rajiv K. Luthra Foundation
On September 22, 2024, Chief Justice of India, Shri DY Chandrachud, officially laid the foundation stone for the Rajiv K. Luthra Academic Wing at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in Bengaluru.
The event was attended by a host of prominent dignitaries, including Attorney General of India Shri R. Venkataramani, Manan Mishra, Chairman of the Bar Council of India, Mrs. Gayatri Luthra, Chief Trustee of the Rajiv K. Luthra Foundation, as well as Harry Chawla and Amit Luthra, Managing Partners at Luthra and Luthra Chartered Accountants.
NLSIU, which has maintained its position as India’s top-ranked legal institution for over two decades, will utilize the grant from the Rajiv K. Luthra Foundation to upgrade and expand its academic infrastructure. The development will include the redesigning of existing classrooms and seminar halls, along with the construction of new facilities to enhance the learning environment.
In addition to the infrastructural improvements, the Rajiv K. Luthra Foundation has also pledged to establish two annual gold medals in honor of the late Rajiv K. Luthra, to be awarded to outstanding students. The foundation will also sponsor an annual lecture series in his memory, to be held over the next five years.
