Bombay High Court Grants Bail: No Evidence of Instigation in Estranged Husband’s Suicide Case

Bombay High Court Grants Pre-Arrest Bail to Woman and Paramour in Estranged Husband’s Suicide Case

MUMBAI: The Bombay High Court has granted pre-arrest bail to a woman and her alleged paramour, who were accused of abetting the suicide of her estranged husband. In its ruling on October 17, the court noted the absence of direct instigation or incitement leading to the husband’s death.

Justice R N Laddha, presiding over the case, stated that there was no evidence suggesting the couple engaged in behavior that was “compelling or oppressive,” which could have left the husband with no other option but to take his own life. The court emphasized that, at this stage, it appears the accused did not take any definitive actions that directly contributed to the deceased’s tragic choice.
