NGT Establishes Committee to Address Illegal Waste Dumping in Noida Colony
NEW DELHI: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has constituted a panel to recommend punitive and remedial actions concerning the illegal dumping of municipal solid waste in a residential area of Noida.
The tribunal was addressing a petition that highlighted the dumping site in Makanpur Colony, Sector 62 A, located approximately 200 meters from National Expressway-3 (Delhi-Meerut Expressway) and around 3 kilometers from the Delhi-Ghaziabad border. The petitioner’s counsel noted that solid waste is being dumped across an area of about 1 square kilometer, resulting in unpleasant odors and significant disturbances for local residents.
